Kannapolis October Teacher of the Month

Hilbish Ford is proud to announce Kannapolis City Schools' October Teacher of the Month is Leah Grasty.

Leah Grasty teaches 2nd Grade at Forest Park Elementary School. She was nominated by a parent who described her as not only a teacher, but as a cheerleader for her students.

The parent said Grasty gave her son the self confidence to achieve things that he would not have attempted prior to being in her class. He gained a love for school and learning while in her classroom. “It is a great feeling as a parent to know your child is being taught by someone as caring, loving and encouraging as Mrs. Grasty.”

Grasty truly cares about each of her students and gets to know them on a personal level. She teaches her students all things are possible if they don’t give up. Her classroom is a positive environment that allows each student to gain self confidence while learning to value and respect themselves and others.

We are extremely proud that Leah Grasty is part of our Kannapolis City Schools’ family, and we are delighted that Tim Vaughn, General Manager at Hilbish Ford, was there to present her with the Hilbish Ford Teacher of the Month Award.

Congratulations again to Leah Grasty. We are thankful for wonderful difference she makes in our community

Bring the Pride Back to Kannapolis!

Hilbish Ford is dedicated to bringing the pride back to the City of Kannapolis. We feel strongly that, as business owners, property owners, and citizens, we all can work together to make Kannapolis an attractive place for visitors and new businesses.

We want to thank the City for the work they're doing to start cleaning up areas of critical need, like Cannon Blvd. Hilbish Ford General Manager Tim Vaughn has been meeting with City staff and council members to ensure efforts to make Cannon Blvd. more welcoming to visitors and potential residents and businesses continue.

There are several things that can be done, and we hope to continue working with the City to make these happen. Here are just a few:
  1. Crape Myrtles in the grass median from the exit 58 area to Mt. Olivet.
  2. Greenery added to the median from Mt. Olivet to Dale Earnhardt Blvd.
  3. Paint/repair the faded yellow medians.
  4. Make this effort front and center in the Kannapolis Matters Newsletter
  5. Make this a joint effort with key groups, including Rotary, KCS, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts,  Churches, Garden Clubs, businesses etc.

We urge all members of the community to think about what they can do to help our efforts to bring the pride back to Kannapolis. How can we work with the City to make these improvements? What are some ideas you have? Share with us!
