The following was recently released on Ford Social, revealing the 2015 Ford Mustang as the "Official Car" of the January 2014 CES, the world's largest technology showcase!
The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang is already for garnering plenty of attention, but it’s the technology in particular that will be grabbing major headlines on January 7-10, 2014, when it performs duties as the “Official Car” of the 2014 International CES.
The international event, held in Las Vegas, showcases the hottest emerging technology and innovation. In fact, Ford will use CES as an opportunity to reveal even more of the new technology features of the Mustang.
Did you know the 2015 model marks the most technologically advanced Mustang in its history? This includes driver-assist features and performance upgrades that allow you to tune the car to meet your own personal driving style, such as with available Selectable Drive Modes for controlling steering effort, throttle response, stability control and shift control.
The ponycar also comes standard or has available cutting-edge technology such as Ford SYNC®, MyFord Touch® and AppLink™ for hands-free control, voice recognition and access to smartphone apps.
Additionally, there are track apps for performance data, Blind Spot Information System for alerts when changing lanes and adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, which automatically adjust vehicle speed to maintain a safe following distance, or increases sensitivity of brake assist if a collision may be imminent.
As the “Official Car” of CES, a Mustang fastback will be on display in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and a convertible will hold center stage in the main display area of the North Hall.

December 2013 Kannapolis Teacher of the Month
Hilbish Ford is proud to announce the winner of the Hilbish Ford Outstanding Teacher of the Month Award for December.
Melissa Little teaches 4th grade at Shady Brook Elementary School, a part of the Kannapolis City School System. Parents and students both recognize Melissa’s ability to show students how to have fun while learning. She teaches her students how to look at their work in a way they can understand. One student said Mrs. Little has taught her the importance of being respectful, responsible, safe and a learner.
The students in her class leave school with a smile and look forward to returning the next day. A parent nomination said that Melissa “says her students are gifts and I believe she means every word. She once told my son that she was his school mom and would keep him safe. If you are a mom you know just how much that means. I trust her with one of the biggest pieces of my heart.”
We are extremely proud that Melissa is part of our Kannapolis City Schools’ family, and we are delighted that Tim Vaughn, General Manager at Hilbish Ford, is here to present her with the Hilbish Ford Teacher of the Month Award. Congratulations!

Hilbish Ford's Mission to Clean Up Kannapolis
Hilbish Ford's General Manager Tim Vaughn has been passionately beating the drum to bring the pride back to the City of Kannapolis, and is working to inspire other business owners and community members to follow suit. Through initiatives like the installation of a 7' x 42' flower bed, Hilbish Ford is leading by example, showing that if we all do a little, it adds up to a lot.
The Independent Tribune recently featured a story on his mission, ideas and how they line up with the City's ongoing efforts to revitalize the community:
Tim Vaughn sat at his desk at Hilbish Ford with a rising passion about his new mission -- cleaning up Kannapolis.
“We need to look like we are hospitable, clean and a welcoming place for visitors and potential business owners to come in and invest,” said Vaughn, General Manager of the dealership, pointing toward Cannon Boulevard, a sea of gray concrete and fading paint.
“Let’s get the medians cleaned up,” he said. “Let’s ask property owners to join us … to clean up like company’s coming.”
For 60 years, Hilbish has been a landmark on one of the city’s entryways, just north of the I-85 interchange with U.S. 29. Vaughn said he’s “beating the drum,” trying to gather support for a push to beautify the city.
The entryways lack signage, and Cannon Boulevard between I-85 and Dale Earnhardt Boulevard has numerous poorly managed properties with asphalt parking lots extending to the road.
“If the first thing you see is blighted areas, you’re not going to be encouraged to invest,” Vaughn said. “It’s no different than interviewing for a job. You put your best clothes on and you go in for that interview and you hope you get the job.
Well, we’re being interviewed by people when they come up Cannon Boulevard.” City leaders have similar concerns, and they’re exploring options to make the city more inviting.
The Kannapolis Economic Development Plan, adopted in November 2012, calls for a comprehensive appearance improvement initiative.

Kannapolis October Teacher of the Month
Hilbish Ford is proud to announce Kannapolis City Schools' October Teacher of the Month is Leah Grasty.
Leah Grasty teaches 2nd Grade at Forest Park Elementary School. She was nominated by a parent who described her as not only a teacher, but as a cheerleader for her students.
The parent said Grasty gave her son the self confidence to achieve things that he would not have attempted prior to being in her class. He gained a love for school and learning while in her classroom. “It is a great feeling as a parent to know your child is being taught by someone as caring, loving and encouraging as Mrs. Grasty.”
Grasty truly cares about each of her students and gets to know them on a personal level. She teaches her students all things are possible if they don’t give up. Her classroom is a positive environment that allows each student to gain self confidence while learning to value and respect themselves and others.
We are extremely proud that Leah Grasty is part of our Kannapolis City Schools’ family, and we are delighted that Tim Vaughn, General Manager at Hilbish Ford, was there to present her with the Hilbish Ford Teacher of the Month Award.
Congratulations again to Leah Grasty. We are thankful for wonderful difference she makes in our community

Bring the Pride Back to Kannapolis!
Hilbish Ford is dedicated to bringing the pride back to the City of Kannapolis. We feel strongly that, as business owners, property owners, and citizens, we all can work together to make Kannapolis an attractive place for visitors and new businesses.
We want to thank the City for the work they're doing to start cleaning up areas of critical need, like Cannon Blvd. Hilbish Ford General Manager Tim Vaughn has been meeting with City staff and council members to ensure efforts to make Cannon Blvd. more welcoming to
visitors and potential residents and businesses continue.
There are several things that can be done, and we hope to continue working with the City to make these happen. Here are just a few:
- Crape Myrtles in the grass median from the exit 58 area to Mt. Olivet.
- Greenery added to the median from Mt. Olivet to Dale Earnhardt Blvd.
- Paint/repair the faded yellow medians.
- Make this effort front and center in the Kannapolis Matters Newsletter
- Make this a joint effort with key groups, including Rotary, KCS, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Churches, Garden Clubs, businesses etc.
We urge all members of the community to think about what they can do to help our efforts to bring the pride back to Kannapolis. How can we work with the City to make these improvements? What are some ideas you have? Share with us!

August is American Adventures Month!
August is just a few days away, and it won't be long before the kids are back in school. So NOW is the time to embark on some great adventures with friends and family. No matter where the road leads you, you'll be happy when you're in a Ford. These are a few of our favorite road trip choices:
Ford Focus
Ford Focus
The Focus is a family-sedan staple. But this special 5-door hatchback is ideal for road-trips. Its plush interior keeps the family comfortable, and its top-of-the-line safety features will have you at ease even for the longest road trips. There's plenty of room for the kids and the stuff that comes along!
Adventures are fun, but they can be demanding. The Ford Explorer, with a wide range of adaptable, all-terrain capabilities, are perfect for the especially unpredictable adventures. Its spacious interior also proves useful, with folding seats and multiple storage areas, perfect for cross-country or long road trips with friends and family.
The Edge is loved for its sleek look, which makes it perfect for a stylish vacation. In addition, it touts Ford's EcoBoost technology, providing great fuel economy in town or on the highway. It has a high towing capacity, so you can bring along the boat, bikes, or whatever you need for their adventure!
Where will your adventure lead you? We want to hear all about it! Thanks for stopping by Hilbish Ford!

Five Tips for Safe Summer Road Trips
Summer is a great time to enjoy a road trip vacation with your family and friends. Thanks to Ford Driving Skills for Life, we have five great tips to keep safe while having fun on the road.
Tip #1: On a long road trip, go inside and eat when stopping for food, don't try and multitask by eating while driving. Look at it as a much needed break from the road!
Tip #2 – Did you know that driving while tired can be just as bad as driving while legally intoxicated? If you are going on a long trip, drivers should take turns often to avoid an irritable and fatigued driver. Also, if you plan on driving through the night, please get plenty of sleep before you leave on your trip, and whoever is riding shotgun - your job is to stay awake and keep your driver company!
Tip #3 – Designate someone in the car to manage the non-driving tasks, like texting and DJing, so that the driver is not doing either of these things behind the wheel.
Tip #4 – Speed and road rage don’t belong on your vacation! Leave early enough so that you can take your time, relax, and enjoy the ride!
Tip #5 - Wear your seat belt! Putting on your seat belt should be the first thing you do when you get in the car. Wearing a seat belt is the number one thing you can do to survive a crash!
For more tips for the road, follow Hilbish Ford on Pinterest at www.pinterest.com/hilbishford and be sure to visit www.hilbishford.com to see our inventory and chat with one of our qualified sales managers.
